Church history

Our History

Living Faith Christ Mission is an evangelical church. We emphasize conformity to the basic tenets of the faith and a missionary outreach of compassion and urgency. As evangelicals, we regard Scripture as the divinely inspired record of God’s revelation, the infallible, authoritative guide for faith and practice.

Theologically we stress the sovereignty of God, the transcendent, personal, infinite Being who created and rules over heaven and earth. He is a holy God who cannot tolerate sin, yet he is one of love and compassion for the sinner. He actively identifies with the sufferings of his people, is accessible to them through prayer, and has by his sovereign free will devised a plan whereby his creatures may be redeemed. Christ’s vicarious atonement was a ransom for mankind’s sins, a defeat of the powers of darkness, and a satisfaction for sin because it met the demand of God’s justice.

We believe that salvation is an act of unmerited divine grace received through faith in Christ, not through any kind of penance or good works. One’s sins are pardoned, and one is regenerated (reborn), justified before God, and adopted into the family of God. The guilt of sin is removed immediately, while the inward process of renewing and cleansing (sanctification) takes place as one leads the Christian life. We believe that counting the cost is an essential part of responding to the gospel message. Conversion to Jesus Christ includes obedience to the commands of God and participation in the body of Christ, the church.

Our Vision

1

Seek The Lost

Making it hard for people to go to hell.

2

Teach The Found

Building marriages, families, and a church that lasts by perfecting and equipping with the Word of God.

3

Send The Disciples

Sending you to heal the secret wounds, silent cries, and hurts of hurting people.

Our Aspiration

We recognize God as the supreme Lord of all who is worthy to receive all glory and honor and power, for by his will all things were created (Revelation 4:11). We acknowledge, above all else, God’s personhood and desire to have a genuine, loving relationship with us where we honor him for who he is and care about his desires and purposes, as he has loved and cared for us.

Therefore, all worship and church activities are centered around the heart of the God who created us and loves us. Our worship services reflect our authentic and joyfully loving response to the God who saved us, as we grow in our relationship with Jesus Christ and in our ability to reflect his image through the power of the Holy Spirit. We ensure that God’s priorities are always at the forefront of everything we do as we seek his righteousness, build his kingdom through sharing and living the gospel message, and eagerly await his return.

Our Statement of Faith

Statement of Faith

1. The Scriptures

We believe that the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are verbally inspired by God, inerrant and infallible in their original writings, and are of supreme and final authority.

2. The Trinity

We believe in one God, eternally existing in one essence, yet in three co-equal persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

3. Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten by God, conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born of the virgin Mary.

4. The Holy Spirit

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Trinity,
who convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment.
He is the life of the believer and empowers the preaching and teaching of the Gospel.

5. Mankind

We believe that mankind was created in the image of God,
but sinned, and thereby incurred both physical and spiritual death — separation from God.
All human beings are born with a sinful nature.

6. Salvation through Christ

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice,
and that all who believe in Him are justified on the basis of His shed blood.

7. The Resurrection and Ascension

We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord,
His ascension into heaven, and His present life there as High Priest and Advocate for us.

8. The Blessed Hope

We believe in the personal, visible, and imminent return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

9. New Birth

We believe that all who receive by faith the Lord Jesus Christ are born again by the Holy Spirit,
becoming children of God and heirs of eternal life.

10. The Devil and Eternal Judgment

We believe in the existence of a personal devil, who is actively working to destroy the souls of men.
He, along with his angels and all who reject Christ, will eternally perish in the lake of fire.

11. The Church

We believe that the Church’s mission is to preach the Scriptures to all the world,
its endeavors being guided by multiple leadership and supported by the wise stewardship of God’s people.

12. The Ordinances

We believe that the ordinances of the Church, given by the Lord, are:

  • Baptism, and
  • The Lord’s Table (Communion)
